Happy Galentines Day!

The Victoria Film Festival wrapped yesterday! It was quite the experience. I saw several films that I would like to talk about but I'll have to save that for another post when I come back from San Francisco.

It was a cool thought to think that my film was playing in two different film festivals with in the same two hours on Saturday. It was overwhelming to have so many people come see my film and I am thankful to have such a great support system in my hometown.

I'm very excited to head back to California tomorrow to check out the San Francisco Independent Film Festival!

I was thinking a couple nights ago while I was going to sleep (my most creative time of the day) about how I would describe animation to someone if they asked me.

Someone: How would you describe animation?
Me: Have you ever had a visceral dream where you felt as though it was your reality? And when you woke up and tried to share what you just experienced with someone you just could not. Animation is my way of bringing my dreams to life.

Sick Sundays

I wanted to share three things on this slow sunday evening.

First off is this quirky, wild and awesomely character designed animation called "Sweet Savage Love". Even though feet gross me out in real life, I could not help but love this green toe and the the look of pure thrill on the the fantastically designed character. Music is as playful as the animation!

Also I've been reading this great animation resource blog the past week and have found it's lessons to be very helpful and I would highly suggest checking out!

In particular, his colour theory posts are very interesting and I appreciate the amount of samples provided. Definitely drooling over some of the old Yogi Bear layouts. After I finish this entry, I'll be reading more of his blog!

Lastly, I wanted to share some music I've been listening to lately.

Lianne La Havas has one of those haunting voices that you can't help but be drawn to. Adore the styling. I'll makes sure to wear my hair in a bun like this very soon.

Hope you enjoyed! The Victoria Film Festival starts this week and I'm very excited by the fact I'll be attending numerous screenings in the next couple of weeks. I'll make sure to post reviews and trailers for the films I see.
